"The dedication demonstrated by the students who received AP Capstone Diplomas is incredible,” stated Dr. Demond Means, Superintendent. “These scholars now have invaluable college readiness experience that will serve them well into the future, and I encourage our community to celebrate their accomplishments along with us.”
The assessments in AP Seminar and AP Research are project-based, evaluating mastery of skills through group projects, presentations, and individual essays completed over the course of the year. These courses are designed to be interdisciplinary, encouraging students to create research projects based on topics of personal interest. Students are assessed on critical thinking, research, collaboration, time management, and presentation skills, all of which are essential toward the successful completion of their projects.
