Longfellow Middle School and Wauwatosa East High School theater students decorated and assembled snack bags for the Ronald McDonald House this week in a joint community service project. The cast and crew made fun, positive, and uplifting designs on more than 100 bags that were then filled with snacks for families.

Ronald McDonald House Volunteer Services Coordinator Emma Krisberg also visited during the activity to share gratitude with the students for helping the Ronald McDonald House families, who face burdens from financial barriers, to language barriers, to those who may have had to pick up everything they had to come here to care for their child.

“All of you making snack bags for us really helps us keep providing for our families so that they can focus on why they’re really here, and that’s for their child,” Krisberg said. “You’re not only helping our mission, but you’re helping our families in their time of need.”

While joining forces to make a positive impact on their community, the students also had a chance to connect with each other, build bonds, and make memories together. Longfellow students also got a chance to tour the East theater to get a glimpse of their high school opportunities.

A special shoutout also goes out to Longfellow Theater Program Director Jay Reinke for organizing this fantastic event!
