About Dr. Jessup-Anger: My family lives near Roosevelt Elementary School on the East side of Wauwatosa. We were attracted to Tosa because of the excellent schools, walkable neighborhoods, and the close-knit sense of community. I have two girls that attend Longfellow Middle School and East High School. My wife Jody and I both work in higher education in the Milwaukee area. Each of us come from families of educators and we spend a lot of time working to improve education in our careers and in our leadership roles in the community. I enjoy hiking, attending events around Tosa and Milwaukee, live music, watching my kids’ sports and activities, and cheering for all the Wisconsin teams.

What inspires you most about the students of the Wauwatosa School District? Wauwatosa has such a special history of creating learning environments that develop smart, thoughtful leaders that do amazing things throughout their lives. Watching our students’ journeys through our schools as they learn, find their talents, grow into adults, explore their passions, and decide the mark they want to make in the world is always inspiring. Kids come to school with complex stories and our educators meet them where they are and help them learn about themselves, their peers, and the world around them as they prepare for whatever is next.

What prompted you to serve the Wauwatosa School District as a School Board member? I ran to ensure that we have excellent schools and the very best teachers for every kid in Wauwatosa. Today, while remaining committed to what drove me to run, I am now guided by the Board North Star and our Vision of a Tosa Graduate.

What else do you want to share about yourself? Being able to serve the community and our children on the Tosa School Board is an honor and it’s fun to see our efforts produce results for the children and our community. Please reach out to share what is going great for your children and family and those things we can do better at now and into the future.

About Dr. Hoag: I have been a Wauwatosa resident since 2015. When I contemplated where I wanted to raise my children, Wauwatosa very quickly moved to the front of the pack because of our vibrant community and inclusive and welcoming public schools. My children are now at Longfellow Middle School and Lincoln Elementary and have benefited from being raised in a school community that supports students while expecting great things from each of them. I am honored to work as a pediatric psychologist at Children's Wisconsin where I care for children and their families affected by cancer and other blood disorders. My husband, Bill, owns City Screen Print and Embroidery in West Allis.

What inspires you most about the students of the Wauwatosa School District? John F. Kennedy said, "Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future." We see this potential every day in every school in our district. It's inspiring to see our young learners eager to start school each year, knowing how much they will learn and grow over the year. It's equally inspiring to attend graduation and watch as our graduates launch into the world full of hope, excitement, and promise. We also have an abundance of talent within our school community. Whether it's watching our students perform in one of our amazing theater programs, cheering on our APPSE team, or encouraging our students competing in Destination Imagination, I am consistently impressed by the students in our school district.

What prompted you to serve the Wauwatosa School District as a School Board member? I was elected to the board in the spring of 2022 at a time when our world was still reeling from the COVID pandemic and we were just starting to grapple with the impact on children's mental health. As a psychologist, I spent my days helping individual children improve their coping and resilience, but knew that the best way to make a broad impact was to go where the children are - our schools! I have since been impressed by the robust services and programs offered by the Division of Pupil and Family Supports. As a board member, my promise to the community is to use our district's strategic plan to continue to push forward goals that positively impact our students.

What else do you want to share about yourself? I love reading and wandering around the farmers market. However, most weekends you can find me on the sidelines of a soccer game.

About Mrs. Heimerl-Rolland: I live on the Eastside of Wauwatosa with my husband and daughters. I also have a son who attends UWM. We love living in Wauwatosa. In my free time, I like to be with friends and family trying new restaurants and I love being outside. My background is in education and I have worked for MPS and other community organizations, I currently work in the Office of Professional Development at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

What inspires you most about the students of the Wauwatosa School District? The diversity in talent our students show us on a regular basis is inspiring. There is never a lack of student accomplishments to celebrate in our district; from sports, the arts, DI, APPSE, cheer and dance teams and so much more. When I am in our schools, I see our students actively engaged in learning and showing kindness to their peers. Students are my number one priority as a school board member and they inspire me to make decisions that center around them.

What prompted you to serve the Wauwatosa School District as a School Board member? I have been involved in Wauwatosa Schools since my kids started school in the District and I saw so many wonderful things happening in our schools. I also saw things that I thought could be even better. I knew my background in education, nonprofit management and program management could be an asset to the District so I eagerly ran for my seat.

What else do you want to share about yourself? I think decisions are best made when a variety of voices are heard and facts and data are used. I try to be available to our community and hope that our community members feel comfortable reaching out. If I can't help with a specific question, I am happy to point them in the right direction.

About Mr. Morris: Loyal husband, dedicated father of three, coach, and mentor. Also an accomplished civic leader, business executive, and community builder. With a passion for making positive impact, I have dedicated myself to empowering young people and fostering positive change within in their community. As an executive leader, a board chair for a local youth-focused non-profit organization I have led efforts to provide mentorship, leadership, coaching and policy to serve the youth of our community. My dedication to youth advocacy has earned both local and national recognition, and my innovative approach to community building has resulted in partnerships both in the public and private sector. My leadership skills extend beyond mentoring in the non-profit sector. With a proven track record of success in the private sector, I have demonstrated an ability to build culture, lead teams, and drive results. Concurrently holding multiple board and committee leadership roles across various sectors in Greater Milwaukee, I have a deep understanding of the importance of innovation, being people focused, and being collaborative in achieving goals. My dedication to the community, our youth, public safety and our schools are all hallmarks of what has made me the respected leader and role model in Wauwatosa.

What inspires you most about the students of the Wauwatosa School District? I am inspired most by the resilience, dedication, community service, creativity, teamwork and achievements of the parents and faculty of the school district. Our district community as compared to our nearest neighbors is the example of what is right within the education world. Sure, we make mistakes, however I am inspired by how quickly we respond and adapt to the evolving educational landscape and how rapidly we seek to acknowledge, understand, and execute on what's best for the children of our district.

What prompted you to serve the Wauwatosa School District as a School Board member? I was prompted to serve on the board by the request of several people I respect and admire within the community. I was tired of hearing about the problems and so I decided to become part of the solution. The relationship between the board and the community felt fractured and an escalating decline in both respect and decorum was evident. I also saw and heard from many educators, staff and parents that they didn't feel that the board was operating in a capacity that felt representative of the sentiments, feelings, and circumstances of the entire community. Moreso, I have two, soon to be three kids in the district and I couldn't sit back and rely on hopes, prayers, and blind optimism that all will be ok. My family is an advocate for public education and we moved here because of the strength of the Wauwatosa School District over many others public school districts. I refused to sweep yesterday's or today's problems under the rug only for them to become bigger problems tomorrow for the children of our community, so I decided that the greatest way to foster change and promote leadership and positivity at the district level as an advocate for students, teachers and the community was to serve on the board.

What else do you want to share about yourself? I'm enthusiastic and optimistic about the community we live in and only want what is best for it. You can find me regularly at any one of our amazing coffee shops or local establishments. My super power is getting things done and getting them done a speed and frequency that isn't for the faint of heart. Feel free to reach out any time.

I am a parent of 3 school-aged children. I am committed to the support and expansion of public education and its continuous quality improvement and innovation.

What inspires you most about the students of the Wauwatosa School District? I am inspired by the diverse interests and talents of our students. I find them generous, thoughtful, and hard-working. I believe that our future is in good hands with them.

What prompted you to serve the Wauwatosa School District as a School Board member? Students need safe and stimulating learning environments. They need to be challenged to think beyond their own perspective and experience. I believe that the WSD has the capacity to become known as a destination district that opens access to all and inspires the next generation of leaders to be committed to intellectual achievement and to the dignity of all beings. I am thrilled to volunteer my time to help ensure our district meets these goals in the immediate future.

What else do you want to share about yourself? I practice yoga and Pilates, enjoy vegetable gardening and long walks. I recently started taking piano lessons. I am a big soccer fan and my 3 favorite players all live under my roof.
