Student Teaching

The Wauwatosa School District offers student teaching opportunities for future teachers. In addition, the District works with several institutions of higher education to allow college students to complete their required field experience hours at a Wauwatosa school through an unpaid internship.

Your college or university advisor will provide your school's policies related to securing a student teaching position or completing field experience hours. Once you have secured a placement, please complete the following Student Teacher/Observer Practicum Application.

Please remember that the school principal ultimately needs to approve all student teacher, intern and/or practicum placements.

All potential student teachers are required to complete a Wauwatosa School District Student-Teacher Application. You will also receive an additional email with a criminal background check and screening procedures which are based on the type of volunteer activity to be performed and the amount of anticipated student contact.

You may complete the application below. Please remember that you must complete the application and receive confirmation that you have been approved before you may begin your placement.
